Hanover Release Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm a custody status, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the office that holds the record.

Where to Ask in Hanover

Pamunkey Regional Jail, not the Hanover Sheriff alone, operates the regional adult jail and holds its booking and release records. Use the main number and ask for Records at extension 3033 or Booking/Release at extension 3043. Posted hours are administrative hours, not a published release schedule.

The type of question determines the next office:

  • For a former PRJ detainee or an existing release record, start with the Hanover release search and records route and then contact PRJ.
  • For state post-release supervision, use Probation & Parole and VADOC District 41.
  • For the same-day feed question, see Jail Releases: 24 Hours; PRJ does not publish an official 24-hour list.
  • For an anticipated date or custody alert, use Projected Release or the VINELink Inmate Search.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, contact VADOC or use its official Inmate and Supervisee Locator.
  • For a federal or immigration case, use the official BOP or ICE locator tied to that custody system.
