Search terms
A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. Hanover County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
An email or contact submission may be kept long enough to answer the request and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data and Cookies
Ordinary web operations may collect technical facts during a page visit:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring page, when provided
- Date and time stamps

Reasons Data Is Used
Collected information may be used to:
- operate the site and maintain performance;
- send a search request to the selected partner;
- measure which public-record pages are useful;

Links and Advertising Systems
Links may lead to Pamunkey Regional Jail, Virginia court systems, the VADOC locator, other government portals, and outside search tools. The destination's own privacy policy governs after the link is followed or information is submitted there.
Advertising partners may use their systems to measure activity across multiple sites and tailor ads. That tracking takes place under the partner's controls and policies.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may still be handled by:
- search partners that process submitted queries;
- analytics providers;
- advertising networks; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Has Practical Limits
Reasonable safeguards are used to reduce unauthorized access and loss. No internet service, transmission method, or storage system can be promised as fully secure or immune from a breach.
Adults Only
The site is intended for people age 18 and older. It does not knowingly collect personal data from a minor. A parent or guardian may use the Contacts page to request deletion if a minor submitted information.
Available Privacy Requests
Subject to applicable law, a person may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal data held by the site;
- correct inaccurate information;
- erase eligible information; or
- opt out of certain processing.
These rights concern data held by this site. Requests about a jail, court, VADOC, or partner record must go to that separate record holder.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as site practices or legal duties change. A new version takes effect when it is posted here with an updated effective date.
